historical facts for today :: today is the seventh anniversary of the september 11th attacks on the world trade centers in new york city. as someone who has had the opportunity to visit "ground zero" in person, i've got to say that it's a place everyone should try to visit at least once. i didn't think i'd get much of out it, but there is something moving about standing in a place and feeling the weight of recent history all around you.

to be honest, i really didn't realize what day it was until i sat down at the computer and saw yahoo news. when i was walking across the drill field, i noticed that the american flag was at half mass, which got me thinking about what it could mean, but it still didn't dawn on me. i think now is a good time to remember all of those who lost loved ones on that day, and pray that god continues to give them strength.
