:: don't electro-shock me, brother!

i need to make an addendum to this afternoon's quick facts. i've learned that today is an important day in history for one more reason.

don't.
tase.
me.
bro.

that's right, it was one year ago today that a university of florida student was forcibly removed from a forum for former-presidential candidate john kerry. the campus police officers dragged the student, 21 year old andrew meyer, to the back of the hall and commanded him to get on the floor. meyer was quite upset that he was being arrested and put up a fight. finally, in an act that will live in infamy, the police prepare to subdue meyer by pulling out a taser. meyer then shouts "whoa! don't tase me, bro! don't tase me!"

the next thing heard is the electro-shock of the taser and meyer's screams as the electricity surges through his body.

ouch.

luckily, the whole thing was caught on tape. so here it is, your video of the a year ago today ::

and it's also been made into this shirt ::

so, what can we learn from all this? i guess, "the next time you're being forcibly removed from some place by police, play nice. you might get tase'd" or at least "if you have a video camera and can endure getting tase'd, you too can be famous."

more to come...
