:: the quest for 15,000

if you look to the left, you'll notice that there is an application that lists the last few songs i've listened to. that section is tied to a profile i have at music/social network last.fm. (if you're on, "friend" me). one of the reasons i joined was to track the music i listen to. which artists i listen to the most in a week or a year's time, and what songs i've played over and over.

i've been a member since october 8th of last year, and since that time i've listened to 14,856 songs. is that a lot? what can i say? i listen to a lot of music.

the point of this post is to issue a challenge... to myself. kinda like the semester book reading challenge, only it's audible and requires less effort. the more i type, the more "challenge" becomes the wrong word, but it's the first word that comes to mind...

in any event, my goal is to reach 15,000 songs by october 8, 2008.

which brings me to this question :: anybody found any great music lately?

seriously, i'm up for anything. toss out a suggestion and i'll try to find it and listen.

also, i just saw the end of the music video for kanye west's "homecoming" featuring chris martin of coldplay, and i've got to saw it was pretty catchy. i do enjoy an occasional "rap", and the song seemed pretty creative, so i might give his cd a listen...

more to come... on the agenda :: quick facts, media review for the book choke and the movie burn after reading.
